By accessing and using 2 Birds Furniture Inc service, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this agreement.
Unlike modern materials reclaimed wood is subject to a variable amount of changes. Each species displays its own characteristics, colours and grain patterns. As the material ages and is subject to seasonal weather changes it takes on a life of its own and each piece changes according to its own pore structure and from which area of the tree it came from. This guarantees that each piece of wood selected for your product is and will be different and each piece will take finishes differently.
Reclaimed wood is a living thing and may continue to change as it adjusts to its new environment. 2 Birds Furniture Inc. has taken all the necessary precautions to avoid this, however, this will still occur as wood expands and contracts in response to seasonal changes in temperature and humidity. 2 Birds Furniture Inc. does not accept responsibility for any changes in the wood after it has been delivered to your premises.
The company reserves the right to changes these conditions from time to time as they see fit.
Reclaimed wood when finished can alter drastically and the inconsistent pore structure of the materials can cause finishes to penetrate the materials at different rate adding to the perfectly imperfect look of reclaimed wood. All reclaimed woods have different characteristics and some species and finish combinations will accentuate the woods natural defects. Shades of black, white and even green may appear in the finished product.
Long term exposure to ultraviolet light will change the finish on the product and age the finish. Our finishes contain inhibitors to slow the process but do not completely prevent these aging defects.
Long term exposure to moisture or humidity will alter to finish and leave white marks and or permanent damage to the product.
Because all of our finishes are hand done, we cannot guarantee we will produce the identical product as seen in our showroom, online or on our social media platforms. Your product will likely vary from previous iterations of a similar product. It is important that you understand the characteristics of wood, finishes and applications that you have selected as these characteristics are not a reason for warranty work.
IMPORTANT CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Your new product requires minimal maintenance to keep it looking perfectly imperfect. Be careful using any product containing silicone or wax on your finished product. Avoid abrasive cleaners and sponges or any product which may scratch or damage the finish coat.
You may use a Pledge or wood cleaner however over time this will alter the finish as it ages. Try to always clean your product with either a damp cloth or for unfinished barnwood use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment.
Our warranty is to you the original customer and cannot be transferred to someone else. We also warranty only those products supplied by us. Our warranty only covers repair or replacement of the defective product and does include costs such as on-site labour or transportation.
Your warranty period begins on the day we deliver or install product and last for 6 months. The warranty only covers defects. It does not cover normal wear and tear such as nicks, scratches, dents, chips or unnatural damages. It also does not cover the results of exposing your product to extremes in temperatures, humidity, sunlight or water.
If we inspect your product and determine that there is a defect in material or workmanship we will repair the defect or replace the product. We will do our best to colour match, fix, fill or change the defect but there is no guarantee it will be exact due to the nature of the product and reclaimed wood.
SUPPLIED BY OUTSIDE PARTIES
We cannot warranty products supplied by outside or third parties. This includes barn door hardware, table leaf extensions, any manufactured steel product, drawer slides, handles, hinges, pipe and shelving brackets.
Items are entitled to be refunded or returned based on complaint. If an item is unsatisfactory, a written explanation is needed before the item can be considered for a refund. Buyer must consider the description of the item before requesting a refund. If the item matches the description by the seller and the buyer is unsatisfied, seller is not responsible for refund. Refunds are granted on a case-by-case basis.
Any product refunded based on the case by case circumstances will be subject to 20% restocking fee on top of the remaining outstanding balance.
A non-refundable 50% deposit is required at the time of order.
A further 40% payment is due when the product is ready and before installation or shipping.
The remaining balance of 10% is due seven days after installation pick up or shipping.
If a payment is not received or payment method is declined, the buyer forfeits the ownership of any items purchased. If no payment is received, no items will be installed or shipped.
Shipping will be paid for by the buyer in the amount agreed upon by the seller at the time of purchase. If an item is damaged during shipping, seller will not be held responsible. Everything is shipped and packaged to the industry standard and upon leaving the Two Birds Furniture Inc shop is no longer property of the seller but property of the purchaser.
The seller is not responsible for any health or safety concerns once the buyer has received the item. If any harm is incurred from the items purchased by the buyer, the seller shares no responsibility.
Where do you get your wood?
Our material is sourced all over southern Alberta. We have buildings from as far south as the border and north extending to Leduc area, and everything in between. We have a standardized building procurement agreement which includes our WCB and insurance coverages.
Can I request a home consultation
Yes, we provide in home consults for a small fee of $75/hr

I would like to request a quote for a barndoor, what information do you need?
The spaces RO (rough opening)
The wall space on either side and above the RO (rough opening)
The direction the door will open
The type of flooring you have so we know which type of floor guide to use
Is there casing around the door opening? And what size?
Do you require installation?

What humidity is standard to prevent cracking, warping and shrinkage of wood products?
Below 40% is the proper humidity.
Shrinkage: like any other piece of solid wood furniture, it can change based on the climate both outside and within the home. We recommend creating a stable climate inside to prevent any alterations.
Do you have make your own barndoor hardware?
Yes, our hardware is hand forged for each individual barn door order.
Do you provide installation, delivery and set up services?
Yes, we do! Let us know at time of order or completion and we are happy to schedule this in.
What kind of warranty do you provide?
We offer full 3 month warranty for any manufacturers defects and 12-month service for non normal wear and tear. We also provide maintenance service packages once your warranty has expired at a $75 per an hour rate.
Will there be color variation? Can you color match?
Reclaimed wood varies in texture and tone from piece to piece as does the grain and pore structure. Please be advised that true reclaimed materials will have variations throughout each piece of wood.
We are happy to provide color matching if there is an item you would like to match your new piece with.
How do I care for my piece?
We recommend always cleaning the material with a wood cleaner or a mild soap and water. Trusted brands are pledge, end dust and dawn.
... and remember to keep proper humidity levels in your space.
How long can I expect to wait for my order?
Our standard lead times are 8-10 weeks but vary from product to product and time of year. Best to ask us at your time of order.
How do I measure for a feature wall?
Measuring for a feature wall is simple.
When measuring for a feature wall you will only need to measure the total square footage of the wall space you need.
1) measure height ex: 8 feet
2) by length ex: 10 feet
3) mutiply your two digits ex: 80
4) your done! 80 square feet is the amount your feature wall project would require.
We advise you always order an extra 10 square feet of product incase you have any issues installing your feature wall!
